Who we are

Gilead Press is part of Limitless Rehoboth Technologies Limited, its parent company, registered at .

The company legally responsible for the personal data described on this page, and its registered address, are . Write to us about anything on this page at info@gileadpress.online.

What we collect

When you buy a book, we collect the name and email address you pay with. That is what creates your account and what your receipt and your library are built on.

If you write to us, we collect whatever you put in that message and the email address you send it from.

We do not collect a phone number anywhere on this site. See We do not collect a phone number, below.

We do not collect a phone number

We do not collect a phone number anywhere on this platform. There is no phone field on any form, and no page asks you for one. We are stating this directly because it is a real, deliberate choice rather than an oversight.

Cookies

When you visit this site, we set an anonymous identifier called visitor_id in your browser. It lets us tell that the same browser looked at a book page and later bought it, so we can tell which pages and which links actually lead to a sale. It does not carry your name or your email on its own. If you later buy something or sign in, we can link it to your account.

The currency shown to you is set from a tag on the page rather than a cookie, on purpose, so that deciding which currency to show you does not require reading or writing a cookie of its own.

Payments, and who takes the money

Payment is taken by one of two payment processors, and which one depends on the currency you pay in. Paystack takes naira payments. Flutterwave takes US dollar, pound and euro payments.

Your card details go to that processor directly and never reach Gilead Press. Paystack and Flutterwave are separate companies from us, each with its own privacy policy covering what it does with your card details.

We keep a record of the processor's response to your payment, such as its reference and its status, attached to your order, so that we can look up what happened if something goes wrong.

Which company receives the money once a dollar, pound or euro payment has been taken, and its registered address, has not been confirmed for this page, so it is not named here. It will be named once it is confirmed.

Signing in

You may sign in with your Google account instead of an email code. If you do, Google confirms your identity to us and we match it to your account by an identifier Google provides, not by your email address alone.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel to understand which pages and campaigns lead to a sale, and to report a purchase back to those two platforms so they can measure their own advertising.

To match a sale to the click or view that led to it, we store identifiers your browser or these platforms create: for example, Meta's fbc and fbp identifiers and Google's client and session identifiers. We also record the device and browser you used, in general terms, and the page that referred you.

We also currently store a TikTok identifier (ttp) captured the same way, for possible future use. Today, only Google Analytics 4 and Meta actually receive data from us. No event is currently sent to TikTok or to any other advertising platform.

We record raw analytics events for ninety days, after which they are deleted. See How long we keep it, below, for what that period covers.

Downloads

Every time you download a book, or open one to read in your browser, we write down that it happened: your account, which book and file, whether it was a download or an in-browser read, the IP address the request came from, a two-letter country code derived from that address, your browser's user agent, and a short description of your device, for example "Chrome on Android". We keep this so that we can enforce the daily download limit fairly and so that we can investigate if a file was opened from somewhere it should not have been.

We do not show your IP address to you. It is for our own records only.

Where a visit came from

Alongside the visitor_id above, we keep a record of the campaign, source and medium that first brought a browser to this site, and the one that brought it back on the day it bought something. We record the landing page, the referring page, and how many times that browser has visited. If that browser goes on to buy something or sign in, this record can be linked to your account. If it never does, it stays anonymous.

Other people who see your data

Besides Paystack, Flutterwave, Google and the advertising platforms named above:

  • If you tick the box to be emailed about new books, that email is sent through Brevo, our marketing email provider. You can unsubscribe with one click from any such email, and we do not send you marketing email unless you have ticked that box.
  • Every other email we send you, such as your receipt or a sign-in code, is sent through our transactional email provider, Namecheap.
  • Your files are stored on Cloudflare R2. Some records described on this page, including analytics rollups, are stored using Upstash and Google Firestore.

How long we keep it

Raw analytics events, the events behind the numbers described under Analytics above, are kept for ninety days and then deleted.

For everything else described on this page, including download records, attribution records, order records and sign-in codes, we have not yet published a fixed retention period. We are setting these and this section will be updated once they are. We would rather say that plainly than print a number nobody is keeping.

Your choices

You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account.

Deleting your account is available today from your account settings. It deletes your sign-in permanently, removes any book you have from your library, and removes the name, email address and other identifying details from your past orders. It does not delete the underlying order record itself: the amount, currency, product and date stay, because they are accounting records, but they no longer show who bought it. This cannot be undone.

For anything else, such as asking what data we hold or asking us to correct it, write to us using the address under How to ask, below.
